Fran started playing violin as a schoolgirl and has kept a taste for light classical music, playing in charity and fundraising orchestras.

Starting experimenting with electric fiddle in her twenties, Fran has mainly played in alt/indie/grunge bands. Since moving to Montreal, she has been learning jazz manouche and klezmer.

A competent sight reader, Fran also enjoys improvising, mashing up different styles, and is always looking to find new and unusual sounds within the strings.
